Cannot help you with Golds and lounge access as never had problem but recently I have just been staying at HGI due to it being cheaper and not using the lounge too much due to Hanoi being such an amazing food city. Some great food around the HGI. Always been upgraded to suite at HGI but never at Hilton. Happy to provide more details if you would like via PM.
