Should I be able to claim an original routing credit with BAEC after being bumped at check-in by Cathay to a Thai Airways flight?

I was travelling on a return portion of a BA 125 ticket BKK>HKG>LHR>AMS and the BKK CX702 18.50 flight was delayed by 3hrs so at check-in they transferred me to a Thai airways flight so I could make the connection in HKG back to London.

I've spoken to the BAEC gold line to make a claim and there's been a lot of back and forth over the last month getting me nowhere. Basically the claim has got incorrectly processed as a missing Avios/Tier Points claim which fails as I obviously was not on the CX702 flight. I just spoke with BAEC and they said that Cathay do not honor original routing credits for partner airlines i.e BA. This is not the reason why the claim has failed but does anyone have any experience on this if its worth following up further with BAEC?

Thanks,

I had a similar situation with AY, flying on BA 125 stock to RIX from HEL, where i was transferred from AY metal to a BT flight due to a missed connection. I wasnt initially credited with the TP/Avios for my scheduled flight, but after a few calls to BA (finally finding someone who knew their job) I was successful in the end. Im sure someone here can provide the details to confirm, but you are entitled to the TP/Avios in the circumstances you mentioned. Just ensure you speak to someone in the UK call centre...they seem to have a better grip on their job....and provide them with the original booking ref and ticket number.
