The HR is set far back--basically, a short Savannah block--from Bay St. That's great if you want to be on/near the riverfront (& does spare you the worst of the Bay St. noise), but it's less convenient for walking around the HD. Also, it's a typically graceless big property that, from all appearances, serves a lot of tour groups. Personally, I prefer a smaller, less institutional hotel like the Andaz, but tastes differ.
