The purpose of the thread was to receive feedback for those who have experienced with sending their UM and any suggestions and whether ground staff are willing to accommodate in any way or simply point a child in the right direction. Heathrow has a service available as I understand, waiting to hear from them as well as other services that have not yet responded to me.
I'm not aware of any specific service, but Heathrow has plenty of staff wandering around in general (with purple uniforms). As long as she knows more or less what signs to follow (purple Flight Connections signs if she can see any; Arrivals if she can't), and when she is presented with a choice, to ask someone in uniform, she should be fine.

I'd have thought the most important point is to ensure that she has a fully-charged mobile phone to hand that works in London, and that you're on hand to respond to her calls. (If it's an iPhone or equivalent, you can track her pretty closely using Find my iPhone even within the airport itself.)
