so, after some back and forth, they agreed to order the suitcase of my choice and deliver it to me in CH. Question for Swiss-based FTers here: since it is delivered from their HQ in Germany, won't I be presented with a bill for the VAT from Swiss customs plus all the administrative fees for the 'import'? (all items over CHF 62 are subject to VAT when shipped from overseas)
On one hand, I don't mind being 'correct' and paying the tax, on the other hand, if they are calculating it based on full retail price (and not the difference that I am paying after deducting LX compensation amount) then I think I am getting the short end of the stick, plus I will have the privilege of paying additional administrative fees. (I have had this before, had to pay MwST for a package which was a small amount, but after adding all the fees, it became much more)
Do they have a way to avoid this through their courier service, as this is not a purchase per se, but rather a product substitution for damaged goods, or should I have it shipped to an EU address instead and save all the headache?
Thanks!
