I am wondering how I should deal with this situation: I want to book two nights at a hotel that costs $218 or 45k points per night. I currently only have 54k remaining. So I can do either pay $218 for one night and 45k points for the other night, or use point + cash for both nights, i.e., 2*(27k points + $100) = 54k points + $200. Should I avoid the second choice, since I won't earn any points despite that I still pay around $200? Thanks!
