Just because NZ is tight arzed and doesn't do it doesn't mean it's unreasonable.
It's called a transfer manifest and for high revenue passengers in particular it's common to reissue the ticket. I've navigated it twice this year with Lufthansa when travelling in economy. In one instance because of Air China being 5 hours late.
We should start talking about Auckland Syndrome, which is Stockholm Syndrome for Air NZ Airpoints members.
