I flew and EK 332 yesterday for the first time LHR - DBX. I transferred off united ORD -LHR in Biz, so that might color my impression.
The food was far better than most Y products (exepting Sing, Cath, and Qantas). The service was also outstanding. I listened to one FA patiently deal with a grouchy old German complaining about lines at the lav for 15 minutes without losing her cool.
But the seat is nothing special, and for me, the seat is everything. I did not get a bulkhead (which are typically reserved for passengers with infants (and there were many screaming babies). I found it on par with LH in terms of pitch and far beneath AA or UAs extended legroom products. I also gather that EWK squeezes and extra seat per row in the 777, severly diminising width. I am not looking forwrd to my return on the 777.
So what is all the fuss about this airline? If I'm going to be cramped in economy, at least I want to earn status miles ...
