There's been significant investment in T3 in recent years (that's ongoing), and whilst it's true that there's still a lot to do and it's never going to be T2/T5, it's far from the pit it used to be.
As well as ongoing refurbishments and system replacements, the terminal has a completely new baggage system, a new Flight Connections Centre is being built (due to open 2019), and some of the structures are fairly new; Pier 6 was rebuilt in 2006 and the end of Pier 5 was extended just a few years ago to accommodate two A380 stands.
I was more commenting along the lines that Heathrow will never get that 3rd runway built
It's good to see that Heathrow is investing into T3 even if they tow the company line that it's going away. I don't actually mind T3 especially compared to most airports on this side of the pond.
