MEAG employees often place transiting bags on the arrival carousel. From there it could be any where from 1 to 24 hours that someone notices them (if not another passenger mistakenly taking them), takes them off into a holding area for like a day or two before they take them again into the lost baggage depot if there's space where bags sit until a claim arrives.

I would just short check into BEY, then bag drop in the morning rather than spend those and the LHR flight hours wondering if the bags are ok.

My trip went well except that my anker powerbank is now sitting at the lost and found for me to ever pick it up :/

What I did is check a small bag all the way to LHR with non important stuffs and keep my carry-on with me.
I negotiated with the transfer desk to come back see them in the morning to check the bag with the electronics.

Both made it ok to LHR.
