When I use the terms F and J, I'm using them as generic abbreviations for First Class (F) and Business Class (J). It's meant to be inclusive of the various booking codes in each cabin.
Was it part of an international itinerary? If not, then it may have been incorrect. Even still, you would have been waiting for an upgrade into J and not F? It seems like you were mistakenly allowed into QF F. In any case, it's nice when airline mistakes work in your favor!
I would get QF F access even in J as an EXP.
Agent looked at a chart and said since I was flying LAX/JFK as an AA EXP I got access. They said the only routes that qualified in the US were LAX/SFO-JFK and LAX-MIA.
