If you liked the XX, you would be happy with "Negra Modelo" or "Bohemia". Back in the 19th century, Mexican brewers recruited skilled Central European brewmasters, and for whatever reason the quality of many Mexican beers was maintained at a higher level than could be ascribed to most US breweries.
Negra Modelo with its unique bottle shape has become a favorite of mine and it and Dos Equis Ambar are my go-to beer when holidaying in Mexico.
