Rate Changed by Hotel During Ambassador Upgrade

Ugh - very frustrating.

I have a reservation coming up at the IC Sydney in a few weeks. I made a reservation for three nights where the first night is a much higher rate than the remaining two nights.

Logged into IHG.com a couple of days later and see that they upgraded me - that's great. However, they also modified the rate to be the same for all three nights - at the higher rate of the first night.

Emailed the hotel, they said they only see the higher rate - "that's how the reservation came to us."

Called IHG and the agent said she could see it, would revise it and email me back. That was two days ago, no email.

Called today, spent 30 minutes on the phone, and no resolution yet. I have a case number and the agent said she'd have to research and call me back.

This seems a bit ridiculous given how much time I'm wasting. I'd just as soon cancel and go elsewhere but the first night was pre-paid. Ugh.

Has something like this ever happened to anyone else?
