From the benefits guide:
Severe weather, which prevents a reasonable and prudent person from beginning or continuing on a Covered Trip
That's not the same thing as your flight getting cancelled due to weather. Also you continued your trip, it wasn't something you had to bail on halfway through and go home because of weather.
You really had a trip delay, not trip interruption or cancellation.
