I've looked all around but can't find anything online - maybe people who have been to Krabi have some insight

1. A beach club similar to Twin Palm's Catch Beach Club in Phuket (on the beach loungers, good service, reasonably(!) priced drinks, preferably on the hotel premises)

2. A villa/ bungalow that is right on the beach in an area that's not crowded. Most hotels have no or few beach front rooms/ villas, and those that exist are exorbitantly priced. I've stayed in such places in Phuket (Mai Khao beach) and in the Perhentian islands - although those were extremely basic accommodations.

Going in July so it would be good if this is on a beach that is swimmable/ relatively calm.
