Has anyone used the Citi Prestige 4th night free benefit here?

Thinking about a stay in mid/late June. AAA rate shows 167/184/212 for ocean view, ocean facing view and ocean front. Then 328 for Griffin Club.

I think it makes more sense to just book Griffin with the Citi 4th night free, rather than a regular room and pay a $100-150 (?) per night upgrade on check-in for Griffin.

Any fault in my logic?

Not expecting much complimentary upgrades as a Gold.
