Flew to SYD and from AKL this month and think the temp FL is a pretty lame experience. The buffet is horrendous. QF and OW lounges in TBIT are so much better. In fact, sitting in FL is even worse than sitting in the newly renovated portion of the main AC. I don't see the point of sitting in that temp back corner with no view etc.

Ive never understood the draw to the open bar in the FL. I'd rather order from a bartender.

QF lounge is fantastic including showers. I had no issues with access as an EXP flying J on an SWU. I brought a guest on return from AKL who was on an continuing AA flight but different than mine, no issue.
