There are any number of ways these public computers can and will be compromised. Whatever keystrokes including passwords that you use to log onto your email or corporate networks may be recorded by criminals. The USB drive you use to carry documents to print in the hotel may be infected when you plug it into the compromised machine and carry malware back to your home computer.
Not worth the risk.
