Is the truth that FTers just like to be different?
We have many posters with different viewpoints, although I've been a fan of the tunnels from the start there's those who still prefer the transfer train.
As for those who are against the extra walk in this case but like the tunnels there's still a key difference, the tunnels are quiet and so it's a relaxing walk, it's also a straight walk in the direction you need to be.
This walk is a case of having to go down a level, fight through the crowds and then go up again. The experience feels unnecessary and therefore seems longer than it really is.
Same could be said for the Heathrow Express. The door to door time savings for me over the tube are actually minimal but because part of the journey is on a fast comfortable non-stop train it does seem quicker overall than a journey entirely on the tube.
