The advantage is you will earn points at a higher rate. The Southwest cards only earn 1point/$ with the exception of charges to Southwest which earn 2pts/$. Using the other cards will get you a minimum of 1.5pts/$ for regular spend and 5 pts/$ in bonus categories. These points can be transferred over and used just the same. The only downside is they are not CPQ points. But if you have already earned the companion pass, it doesn't matter.
And also partners like various hotels and rental car companies.
Chase will also likely send you "convenience" checks to utilize your WN CC, which ends up costing you less than 2% a year in fees. That's cheap money that could be borrowed after you get the CP and paid off the next year.
And some people I guess would like the 1500 tier points per $10k spend on the Premier WN CC.
