what happens when someone transfers expiring miles to another account? Will these have the same expiry date as on the originating account?

My mother has 10.000 miles on her account and they will expire end of May. However the next planned flight is in June :/

We would like to save these miles and think about transferring them to my account (FB platinum). But when they will expire on May 30 as well on my account I am not willing to invest 120€ for the transfer.

Facebook team says they will keep their expiry date ... but who would trust the social media team in these questions

p.s. had the same issue a while ago on LAN - they also said transferred miles will keep their expiry date, but after the transfer they were no longer expiring at their regular expiry date. that's why I'm asking.
