I was advised to use the attendants upstairs, which I did. They where not very helpful.
I find last minute re-bookings on BA at times cumbersome. A J bucket ticket and 1 1/2 hours before departure they can not waitlist me for an earlier connecting flight. "Sorry sir, the flight is full". What is if there a no shows? I will try my luck at the gate later....

On Lufthansa or Air France they would try all they could to get me on that flight. And an actual person in the lounge would monitor progress....
