Here's a sampling of some of the summer offerings at Valley resorts. Check with individual resorts for restrictions. Not all offerings for each resort are listed.

There are many deals out there. It pays to call resorts and ask about packages and surf their Web sites. Also, check www.arizonavacationvalues.com from the Arizona Office of Tourism for a compilation of various state deals and www.scottsdalesummervalues.com for Scottsdale deals.

Arizona Biltmore Resort & Spa: From May 27 through Sept. 2, the resort offers rooms for $145 Sunday through Wednesday, $165 Thursday through Saturday. For families, a second room for the children is 50 percent off. Also, guests will get 50 percent off a second spa treatment, a second round of golf and the Kids Korral children's activity program. Fairmont Scottsdale Princess: The "Summer Cruise" package is $189 per person, per night, with children under 12 free, based on double occupancy with a maximum of four people per room. Package rates, June 4 through Sept. 8, include a room, all meals, unlimited in-room Internet access, in-room movies and Nintendo games, Kid's Club for children 5 to 12, access to tennis facilities, fitness center and more. Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale at Troon North: The resort is offering a Father's Day package June 16-20 for $555 per night double occupancy that includes casita, 15-minute tuneup golf lesson for two at Troon North Golf Club, one round of golf for two on the Monument or Pinnacle course at Troon North, choice of 50-minute golf specialty massage for dad or dinner for two, Father's Day welcome amenity.

From June 1 through Sept. 8, the resort has an "Unlimited Golf" package for unlimited play per day at Monument, Pinnacle at Troon North, Legend Trail or Talking Stick, plus a casita for $225 per night single occupancy or $325 per night double occupancy. Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort at Gainey Ranch: The "Summer of Family Adventures" rate runs June 1 through Sept. 11 for $130 per room, per night, based on a three-night stay. The program combines luxury and learning, highlighting the "Age of Exploration from 1804 to 2004" with special activities, including period demonstrations from the Lewis & Clark expedition to displays on Mars exploration. Phoenician: Standard-view rooms for $179 per night, Sunday through Thursday, and $215 Friday and Saturday. Unlimited golf package for two, starting at $219 per night. Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak and Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs resorts: Book two consecutive nights by this Saturday and receive a suite for $79 a night from May 28 through Sept. 6. With each adult entrée purchased, one child's meal is free. Rates start as low as $89 per night after Saturday. In a separate deal extending until Dec. 31, the two resorts and the Hilton Sedona Resort & Spa and Hilton Tucson El Conquistador Golf & Tennis Resort have a deal, "Resort Pass," that if you stay two consecutive nights at the Tucson, Sedona and one of the Phoenix resorts, you get four free nights at any one of the resorts. Pointe South Mountain Resort: From May 1 to Sept. 30, the "Splashdown" package offers rates starting from $119 per night on weekdays and $159 per night weekends. Children 12 and younger stay free in their parents' suites and get one free child's menu item with every adult meal purchased at various eateries. Royal Palms Resort and Spa: A number of packages range in price from $289 to $899. They include the "Ladies' Fling" of two nights in a plaza room, dinner for two at T. Scottsdale Resort & Conference Center: The resort has various packages, ranging from $200 per couple for the "Western Experience" of two nights in a hacienda-style room, dinner at Rawhide Western Town & Steakhouse, and two-for-one breakfast each morning, up to $634 for the "Revitalizer" of two nights in a hacienda-style room, Swedish massage and facial each and breakfasts. It's also offering the "Galaxy Chaser," which is a Hummer wilderness tour of the desert at night led by an ex-Navy SEAL who's an expert in planetary geology. Westin Kierland Resort & Spa: Weekly rates start at $119 per night and weekend rates at $139 per night. Among summer attractions, unlimited golf and children under 17 golf free at the Kierland Golf Club with a paid adult. New this summer is "Westin Kierland Gold," a booklet providing almost $500 in retail discounts, including golf, lessons, pro shop retail, spa services and retail, kids club, and food and beverage. Wigwam Resort & Golf Club: Celebrating its 75th anniversary, the resort is offering special rates and entertainment programs from May 24 through Sept. 9. For $139 per night, a golf package includes a casita, unlimited golf for two and $25 food and beverage credit. For $109 per night, get a $25 food and beverage credit and casita.
