This is what I filed a claim for on 11/2016. What you need is the 1st airline to email you a copy that it was "air traffic control". Mine paid for Hotel, Gas to drive to another airport the next day and a meal because the next day it was the only way to get to my destination. Original airport had no flights to get me to my destination. Good luck
Awesome. Thank you very much for your responses. I searched their website and I found an email to make such requests: "
[email protected]". I put in a request and they sent a letter with both our names, scheduled flight times and actual flight departure and arrival times. It also says this:
"The original flight United Express - UA5436 was delayed for 204 mins due to Air Traffic Flow - weather."
I do have hotel receipts for LAX and my first night in PPT where I also had to book a hotel. Reason: No ferry to final destination that night. The issue is I don't know whom to get a letter to prove that with. I also had to pay extra for a cab from that hotel to my ferry next morning. (Costco booked that and sent me an updated itinerary for it. It shows the whole itinerary, mentions an update that I booked a hotel room in PPT myself and a charge on my card for the additional amount.
Should I get a statement of some type from Costco as well for it? Will that help? I was thinking of asking if they can give me a letter stating because of delay and no ferry availability at night, I had to stay one night in PPT (booked myself) and the extra charge of the transfer next day.
I didn't get an itemized bill for my dinner at PPT. Just a charge slip. And my wife trashed the lunch bill from the airport. I am not sure those will go through now.
