I am planning an LA trip for the family (the Wife, 2 boys 12 and 15) in August. I have searched the flyertalk forums and found information on the JW Santa Monica and the Ritz Marina Del Rey, but not for the Marriott Marina Del Rey.

I heard that the JW Santa Monica is under construction, but a GREAT location.

I have not heard much about the Marriott Marina Del Rey.

Any insight would be helpful. I have enough points for either but I want a good location and near attractions for touristy stuff.
