And the added benefit of Qatar classifying the shorter flights as FC rather than BC, giving you access to the FCL in Doha. Assuming there are no shorter connections, you also might get a free room at the transit hotel on the way to MIA.

You also have an evening/night in Doha on the return. Time for a little site seeing and dinner in Doha on the return. Because of FC, some of it may be covered by QR.
