Star Alliance upgrade award on LH from paid D to F class; no mileage credit yet

I flew on an AC issued ticket from YOW to DEL in late March.

One leg of the trip was the LH flight from DEL to FRA.

It was in paid D class; I used my Aeroplan miles (points) to use a Star Alliance upgrade award to F class.

I did not realize that my Aeroplan frequent flyer number was not in the system until the LH flight had taken off from DEL and I realized that my FF" was not on the LH boarding pass - too late to do anything about it. I tried to get the LH F class lounge agent in FRA to see if my Aeroplan number could be retroactively put onto my LH pnr - not possible; she told me to go to Aeroplan.

Now, I have tried to claim credit for that LH flight through Aeroplan. First request by Aeroplan was denied because "I was not flying on an eligible fare". Aeroplan has earlier this week going to appeal on my behalf - saying it was a paid D class fare. Let us see what happens?

I however am not too optimistic that the appeal will be successful. I suspect that LH has the fare/booking code recorded as an "O" class fare - ie a first class award.

I am wondering what else I can do to successfully get my mileage credit on that flight?
