Possibly. One of the exclusions in the PP policy is:

not being reasonably safeguarded by You
One interpretation of your statement above is that you are taking less care than you otherwise would of your purchases because you have the PP protection. I suppose that someone could claim that that means you are not "reasonably safeguarding" them. I have no idea how the Amex insurance company or G4S would interpret such a statement.
