It only affects basic KrisFlyer members which makes sense as it has no practical use anymore. But SQ will still issue cards for Silver and above. I hope NZ never follow suit. A card is a symble of your status and I still keep mine for every single year I have achieved and retained Gold and Elite. Also with onesmart built into it, I don't see NZ abolishing it anytime soon.
