I am searching to book J seat from the US/TPA to SIN.
Departure cities for trans-continental flights could be various ATL/JFK/IAD/IAH (with initial connecting flight from TPA anyway as no Asian airlines flying there).

After searching several hours it appears that all major Chinese airlines (Air CN, CN Eastern, Southern, Xinmen) offer best similar prices, with JFK/EWR probably cheapest option.

So which Chinese airline is viewed generally the best one for J seat and best transit airport on ex-US routes?

The pax is my elderly mum-in-law (cannot make her too unhappy) so most important factors would be:
- comfortable flat seat
- good service and lounge at transit airport
- reasonably good food and service with English-speaking FAs
- drinks and business facilities are irrelevant

Dates are flexible with end May outbound and end July return.
