You cant upgrade with Avios on Oneworld airlines, if that's what you mean by 'avios points and money'.

CX redemptions require more Avios than BA's off peak fares and you have to watch they don't try and send you via AMS/CDG/FRA, but the fees are much less and there is almost always more availability. If you're looking at premium cabins the service is also much better.
