If you ...happened... to book J cabin due to medical issues it may be worth calling Aeroplan and asking them to track down options for you. Maybe if nothing else they will let you add an extra connection.
Also, since the carrier themselves eliminated J, it may prove well worth your time to find out how they resolved this for their OWN customers who pre-booked the flight in J. I recall Air Canada refunded or could sometimes reroute people who booked a mainline route that was later rouged.
