Hey Stranger -- yes, unfortunately it's the only Star Alliance carrier serving that route.

Also unfortunately, it is the shortest leg -- still 4 hours, though, so the difference between being in business and being in economy isn't nothing. If the compensation from Aeroplan was to be something like a refund of fees on a "proportion of total distance travelled from Origin -> YYZ", it would be pretty small.

In terms of changing plans altogether, also unfortunately no. Have to fly from Origin on that (or +1) day.
