I'd say you got lucky - I had a problem with their customer service and tweeted. They asked me to move to DirectMessage. Once I did, there was no more response - at all, despite following up again with them.
They just want to get people off public tweets to minimize negative publicity, then ignore the issue. I'd say your case was an exception... the customer service is deplorable...
