Aman, like every other hotel group, changes. I still love many but not all Aman properties. I still yearn to visit many but not all Aman properties. But I never thought Aman was perfect...just the best at what it did. It now is merely among the best at what it does, depending on the property.
Some FTers are having a tough time dealing with the inevitable changes that always happen to every hotel group.

I think it's also the case that hotels doesn't exist in a value vacuum and it's legitimate to call out hotels when they fall below acceptable thresholds.
Paying, say, 2,300$ a night for an ocean pavilion without pool in Phuket is outrageous, especially for the hard product you get at Amanpuri (these are, after all, Iniala prices).
Many of us (including me) are happy to pay these prices because Aman delivers a unique experience. But we shouldn't be afraid to criticize them if they become unable to deliver a compelling experience commensurate to that expectation.
Lastly, if I were Aman management and I had access to this granular, actionable feedback for free, I would be thankful and all over it to make improvements.

Likely have to search for more homes in Phuket now
At Nemu , it was wonderful to sleep with our Bay view floor to ceiling glass doors / screens wide open at night . Generally left open during the day when we were in . The onsen bath ones too .
Lovely crisp temperatures

, not sure about summer though .
No worries keeping it at 16 C
( Puri does fine AC too after years of harassing them )
It ' s only restaurant served fabulous meals . Not forgetting the complimentary tea at the bar / tea lounge . The Puri banana cake is modified using rice flour
The new / ' young ' team does better at service than at Puri :-:
Wonder if it 's because it is the Japanese culture at work ..
If this is the trend for new Amans , it is a welcome relief .
We shall see come October .
