Some folks get a bit too crazy trying to put a value on points.
Points never used equal $0. No way around it.
Points earned by paying $50 more for a property just to earn them are really expensive.
Points earned with the companies/clients money are a good deal.
Points used to get a normally expensive and rarely discounted hotel room are a great value.
Points used for a free business night, and assuming you are your own boss, may not be the same value you THINK they are. For example, if you think you are getting a $150 room for free, think again. If you were in a 30% tax bracket, then that room would actually cost you $105, with help from Uncle Sam. Hmmmmmm
Depends what YOU do with them.
