There is life outside of HYATT..........
I usually stay in the Old French Concession Area now (business moved to this area) and I quite like the "Twelve at Hengshan" Luxury Collection Hotel by Starwood.
Big rooms, modern, service is OK and the area is just much better if you want to mingle with the expat community.
