I reserved an 8-night September reward stay a year earlier...e-mailed a request for a Diamond upgrade from a Deluxe King Seaview and immediately saw in my confirmation online that we had been upgraded to a Corner Suite.

Lounge has been redone and is large with an outdoor seating terrace. Breakfast had hot offerings and was substantial, as was the appetizer buffet from 6-8 PM. Hard liquor and wine were out to self-pour.

Diamonds also have option of full breakfast from room service for just the service fees (about $13 total) and we took advantage of this and had the table set up on our spacious balcony most mornings.

Hotel staff is amazing and extremely warm and welcoming...concierge was very helpful also.

Mediterranean Buffet at hotel on Saturday nights was great value (35 euros/ea) with extensive displays and live music...lovely to sit out on the terrace. Other theme night buffets were good but much smaller with fewer choices.

Diamond amenity was some sparkling water and plates of fancy sweets.
