It is always puzzled me why airlines fly to South America (SA) overnight both ways. If one assumes that there is no connection pax at SA destinations, flights can depart North American hubs in the morning (after 8:30 am) and make an immediate return at SA destinations. This will greatly increase the utilization of aircraft. Any explanation?
Because business travelers prefer to take an overnight flight than to lose an entire day of work. But the schedule probably appeals to most travelers.
