Trying to sell technical faults as extraordinary circumstances is the oldest trick in the book and never worked in any case that went to court.
I assume you booked your ticket with a stopover in doha as a transit stop and not as a multi stop ticket? In that case, since the arrival at the final destination of your ticket was on time, I don't think you are entitled to compensation. I am not an expert on this subject though, but it is my understanding that delays at transit stops are irrelevant.
