A bit OT but my experience is that while Avios prices tend to be "cheaper" than Asia Miles prices for short hops (I know you cannot really compare unless you consider how you've earned them), there were some award tickets I could ONLY book with Asia Miles while there was no availability with Avios (especially Qantas domestic in Oz).
