In fact, I am asking for less as I have not tried to claim clothing, meals, travel or the cost of the miles flight. I asked for £140 for a hotel room and 20 Tier Points.
For the sake of that I am now fired up for the CEDR process (thanks for the advice) for the full amount, I have now booked a different airline for a £5k flight to Singapore (and will continue to do so until I crack!) and on top of that I will go out of my way to share my experience with as many people as possible. All that for less than £200, is it really worth it. Why can't they see the big picture?
I am unclear how the embolden sentence equates with your OP where you say that you asked for the cost of the new flight, a hotel, transport to the hotel, food, drinks and parking at LHR.
BA's policy on SH cancellations is £200 reimbursement for accommodation and food (but strictly no alcoholic drinks). Was what you actually asked for per your OP less than that?
I also don't understand why you want 20TPs to get gold with an airline that you do not intend to use.
IRROPS are a pain (I have had two in as many months), but I would never do my own thing without agreeing terms at the airport or with BA on the phone. If you do your own thing, you can get in a mess. If what you said you claimed is what was in your OP, I can understand BA's attitude. Yes, it is harsh; but the claim is disproportionate.
