You can ticket most partners on DL stock (and even non-partners). If you have an itinerary in mind in ITA Matrix, the www.bookwithmatrix.com tool is the easiest.

There are also a group of FT users who have created a browser extension that helps book matrix itineraries on a variety of airlines (Delta included). Of course, the phone desk can help too as well.
