Not sure how frequently this happens, but it does appear that the Pre-Check lane is opened from time to time when doing an international-domestic connection at MIA. This should reduce the need to go airside and then back through security. Alternatively, you get a card that means you can keep shoes and a light jacket on, but need to take out tablets/laptops.
