He says he floats between Gold/Plat. I saw 30k-50k of mostly paid F and just assumed Plat with CoS bonuses. But the reality is it doesn't matter: the 3-5 Eagle range is almost certainly higher than Plat.
I also read somewhere that you can get a temporary helix bump if you're having some particularly bad luck on the IROPS front. A few delayed/canceled flights and AA perhaps knows to throw you some less-bad customer service when you need it. But I'm guessing you still need high Plat or EXP to really notice it. I've certainly had IROPS as Gold and no love from AA afterwards.
