First time I noticed citi changed how they process application: When my DW applied for a AA plat card today, she received a message to request a code by text or telephone. After receiving the phone call with the code (you need a phone with # to repeat message), she entered the code on the screen and the next screen with approved for card message with credit limit, credit score, offer for balance transfer etc.
Previously, we always had to call an 800 number to complete the application. Looks like they automated verifying the phone number.
This will make my wife really happy!
