This is what i meant.

"Some airlines have an unwritten policy called the “Flat Tire Rule” in which they'll let late passengers fly standby on the next flight without having to pay to rebook. But you must show up within two hours of your schedule departure."

So if you show up a bit late to the airport (within 2 hours of your flight) as the Skyteam airline assumes you are showing up for only this flight and weren't connecting on a seperate ticket from another carrier.
