Airbus seats were done several years ago...3 or 4, I think. Yes, the older Airbus seats were more comfortable. But try sitting on the LH Airbus seats - you'll be begging to sit in the UA ones. First time I sat in those, my back was hurting before we left the gate (and I'm generally not fussy much about seats).

That said, I just flew a couple of AA regional flights (operated by Envoy - CR7 and E75) and the seats in Y were much better than UAX for comfort - fairly well padded, etc. that said, AA has other issues. And let's not be naive - all carriers, including AA, are moving to slimline seats - expecting those seats to be the same in say, a year or two is probably wishful thinking, just like anyone thinking a couple of years ago that AA wasn't going to move their FF program to earning based on revenue was going to be sorely disappointed.
