I went straight from SB to F one time on an SDS. After a LIM-ATL flight, I asked about getting on an earlier ATL-BOS flight (the last flight on my itinerary). The agent could only put me on standby despite it being an award F ticket (i.e. not an upgrade.) But when I cleared at the gate, I cleared straight into F.
