I use a lock screen and phone encryption because my job requires it. In addition to the Android manager I also have Cerberusapp on all our phones as a back up phone locator/wiper. My wife lost her old phone somewhere in the country and I wiped it remotely when we finally decided we could not find it. She didn't and still doesnt use a pin or other lockscreen. So she forwards her phone to my locked devices when traveling internationally with phone leash.

And I use 2 factor authentication on my primary gmail account.
